EDC REPORT FROM COUNCILMAN COX

Councilman Cox reported that the EDC is working on pictures and map
for a brochure and it is also working on an airport location.

Councilman Cox met with Ed Fields, Ralph McGinley of the Comaty and
they said the County does have funds to proceed with architectural
design for the proposed multi recreational building.

Mayor Gamec gave a report on his and Councilman Sorteberg's Washington
trip.

He said the contacts and knowledge gained made the trip worthwhile.
He also said they advised the politicians about Ramsey, where it is,
etc. In general he felt it was a most worthwhile use of their time and
City's funds. They learned especially about the various government
grants available and the virtues of grantmanship. Mayor Gamec also
said from the information he has received there still seems to be a
possibility for the proposed multi purpose recreational facility.

Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimama to make
some preliminary investigation in an attempt to acquire additional
land adjacent to the City Hall.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Mickelson, Reimann,
Sorteberg and Cox. Voting no None.

Councilman Cox said that even though he had no objection to Councilman
Sorteberg going to Washington with Mayor Gamec he feels this should have
been a Council decision, or at least Council should have been advised,
since it was his understanding, by the original motion, that Admini-
strator Schnelle and Mayor Gamec were going to go.

There was a general response from Mayor Gamec who advised how it :c~ae
about that Councilman Sorteberg went along instead of Administrator
Schnelle.

Councilman Cox stated that no matter what happened, since who was to go
was an original Council decision, no variation should have been made
without Council approval.

Mayor Gamec responded by saying that the original motion did not specifi'-
cally designate who was to go.

Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to
adjourn.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Mickelson, Reimann,
Sorteberg and Cox. Voting no None.

Meeting adjourn~e~ at 1~,~50 P.M.
/"/ /.."

x."...?' ,t". ..'~',' /~ ~
