PUBLIC HF~ING <br /> City of Ramsey <br /> Anoka County <br />State of Miranesota <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Ramsey City Council held a <br />public hearing regarding the proposed storm sewer on Limonite Street <br />on April 8, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Cox <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilman Mickelson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 9:35 P.M. by Mayor Gamec who led in <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka reviewed the plans and specifications for the <br />project. Mr. Raatikka stated the project is proposed to be assessed on <br />an acre basis. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked for comments. <br /> <br />Dick Bmues, 7101 - 149th Lane asked why the project was proposed. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the area was flooded 'and inaccessible when the <br />feasibility was made earlier this spring and, therefore, the project was <br />proposed. <br /> <br />Mr. Buries said he didn't think the project was merited when there was a <br />problem for only four days every three years. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the problem could occur every spring depending <br />on thawing, but that it's difficult to determine how often this will occur <br />in the future. <br /> <br />Roger Hoversten, 15502 Limonite said he has lived there for five years and <br />this is the first time a problem has occurred. He said proper operating <br />culverts would solve the problem. <br /> <br />August Peltzer said he has lived there for 41 years and this is the first <br />time water has been this high. He said some culvert work could solve the <br />problem.
