Ms. Vicky Tregoning, 17700 Eaton St. N.W. asked if Class V is used if
the owners would be assessed.

Mayor Gamec said it will be assessed.

Ms. Mandy West, 17960 Ermine Blvd. N.W., said our area may need more maintenance
than the other areas. She asked if the owners would be assessed for extra
maintenance of their roads.

Mayor Gamec said the street is guaranteed by the contractor for one year°
Their performance bond would cover this. Generally, maintenance would come
from General Street Maintenance Funds.

Ms. Carol Havrilla, 9421 - 180th Ave. N.W., said the roads are bad. She said
there are several children out in the area who would like to ride bicycles
and mothers who would like to push their babies in strollers and the sooner
there is blacktopping the better.

Mr. James Matyka, 9411 - 176~h Ave. N.W. said there is so much sand built up
where she lives that cars have lost control and came into her yard.

Mr. Ned Beck, 17710 Eaton St. N.W~, said it has been eight years since the
street has been seal coated. He asked why they are saying five years now.

City Engineer Raatikka said that this depends on the street traffic volume.

Ms. Mandy West, 17960 Ermine Blvd. N.W., asked if a person has more than one
unit if they can have more than one vote.

Mayor Gamec said a person with more than one unit would have only one vote,
otherwise a developer could control the area. If a developer has seven lots
and gets seven votes, it would benefit the developer or it could hurt him and
we have to stick to one vote to be fair for the residents in the area.

Mr. Lawrence Bowman, 9255 - 176th Ave° N.W., said he didn't see breakdown of
the individual costs and asked what it is going to cost him if it is going
to take ten years to pay.

Mayor Gamec said the breakdown was shown and that the cost per unit annually
is $381.48.

Mr. Bowman asked what would happen if he defaulted.

Mayor Gamec said the 1% added on covers default and the city would own the
land defaulted on.

Ms. Mary Lewandowski, 9410 - 180th Ave. N.W., said she was one of the people who
went out to contact residents on the petition and she said she went two and
three times to a house where she found no one home the first time.

Mayor Gamec said the city was trying to keep peace in the neighborhood
and he thought people really got involved in this issue and he thought
it took a lot of courage to get involved.

Public Hearing
May 19, 1980
page 4
