City Engineer Raatikka said eliminating the service road from the project
would decrease the project cost to approximately $345.65 per unit per year.

Mr. Dennis Mothershed, 6010 - 159th Lane N.W.

Mr. Mothershed asked what the purpose of the service road was.

Mayor Gamec said there are three lots there.

Mr. Clyde Carter, 16010 Potassium Street

Mr. Carter asked about the drainage system.

City Engineer Raatikka said there are ditches for the runoff because it is a
rural-type street.

Mr. Conrad Barsness, 6020 - 159th Lane N.W.

Mr. Barsness asked how the runoff is going to come down the hill and how the
city is going to prevent the road from washing out because of it.

City Engineer Raatikka said the city is never going to prevent it, but it has
to be kept under control. He said this is a rural street section which includes
ditches for the runoff.

Ellsworth Jennie, 6021 - 159th Lane

He noted he.had a gas line by his property that is uncovered most of the time.

Mayor Gamec said some of the particular problems have been almost impossible
to eliminate.

Mr. Dave Lamey, 15740 Sodium St. N.W.

Mr. Lamey asked if the company that puts in the blacktop was going to raise
the drainage pipe up or down.

Mayor Gamec said if the pipe is a street one, they will, but driveway
culverts are homeowners responsibility.

Mayor Gamec said it will be the council's decision on whether to eliminate
the service road from the project or not. He said if there is a strong
feeling that that is what the residents want, the council will take it into
consideration.

Ms. Lori Sherman, 6060 - 159th Lane N.W.

Ms. Sherman asked if it is tax deductible.

Mayor Gamec said it is not tax deductible, but the interest is deductible.

Mr. Dennis Mothershed, 6010 - 159th Lane N.W.

Mr. Mothershed said he thought it would only be fair to take a vote of the
people living there whether they want the service road to be finished or not.

Public Hearing
June 16, 1980
Page 2
