The downstream portion of this site, where <br />erosion is worst, is part of the Coon Rapids Dam <br />Regional Park. Root overhangs of several feet are <br />widespread and the bank is mostly bare. The upstream <br />portion is owned by a local HOA. The erosion is less <br />concentrated here, but a paved bike trail and West River <br />Potential Solution: Protect the toe of this bank from ice <br />damage by armoring it with large rip rap or boulders <br />several feet above the waterline. Use native plants to <br />cover and stabilize the upper slopes. The bank is very <br />steep in some areas, so a turf stabilization material may <br />also be needed. <br />0 <br />
