Winthrop officials say that such locations will not operate until a <br />related ordinance is passed, in light of concerns over "licenses, safety is- <br />sues, building code violations, health code violations and sanitation," as <br />well as "taxes and fees." <br />Source: Winthrop Transcript; www.winthroptranscript.com <br />MARYLAND <br />Baltimore County has approved zoning rules for medical marijuana. <br />Under the new rules, "growing and manufacturing facilities would be <br />limited to industrial areas around the county with dispensaries located in <br />business districts, . . . [and] [d]ispensers . . . locate[d] in commercial <br />revitalization districts, with special exemptions." <br />Source: WBALtv; www.wbaltv.com <br />WEST VIRGINIA <br />Charleston City Council recently passed an ordinance "that will require <br />businesses in certain parts of the city, including convenience stores that <br />sell single bottles and cans, to have a special permit.
