CASE #5 LETTER FROM METRO PARKS AND OPEN SPACE COMMISSI©N: <br /> <br />PLEASE REFER TO ENCLOSURE (D2 Case ~20). <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated this doesn't effect the City because we <br />do not have a town center and we are not allowed the funds. <br /> <br />COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />CASE #1 STAFF REPORTS FOR THE YEAR 1980 (continuation) <br /> <br />(Encl D3 Case #1) <br /> <br />The Council noted the following Staff Reports for year ending 1980: <br /> a. Public Works Supt Report <br /> b. Chief of Police <br /> <br />There were no comments or discussion. <br /> <br />CASE #2 VERNDALE COMMERCIAL PARK (Encl D3 Case #2) <br /> <br />Ron West came before the Council requesting preliminary plat <br />approval for the Verndale Commercial Park Plat. The following <br />items were submitted for background information: <br /> <br />a. Application to plat said piece of property. <br />b. Affidavit of publication of public hearing notice. <br />c. List of persons notified of public hearing. <br />d. City Engineer's report dated January 6, 1981 to <br /> P&Z regarding the proposed preliminary plat. <br />e. P&Z minutes dated January 6, 1981 which recommended <br /> to the City Council that preliminary plat approval be <br /> granted providing he accomplished certain items as <br /> stated in P&Z minutes. <br />f. Exhibit "A" contains a copy of the proposed preliminary <br /> plat. <br /> <br />Mr. West stated he would like to request a variance for the <br />following items: <br /> <br />#3 - Soil borings were not supplied with the preliminary <br /> plat as required under City Code Ordinance 170.037B <br /> sub para i. <br /> <br />#4 - The plat abutts U.S. Highway #10, 52 and 169 and <br /> direct access is not permitted as per Article # 170.038E <br /> sub para 7 of the City Code. <br /> <br />#9 - Zoning requirements state that the lots must be 200' <br /> in width. These lots taper to the rear and at the <br /> setbacks are not 200' wide. <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends granting these <br />variances. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilperson Cox and seconded by Councilperson Van Wagner <br />to grant preliminary plat approval and that items #3, #4, and #9 <br />of the City Engineer's report dated January 6, 1981 be granted a <br /> <br />C/January 27, 1981 <br /> p~ge 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
