December 17, 2015 <br />Tuesday, December 22, 2015 y' <br />Please Note: the City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting! <br />have been canceled. <br />Preview of Next Week <br />Please Note: City Offices will be closed on Thursday, December 24, and <br />Friday, December 25 in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day <br />Council Update <br />Ice Rinks and Warming Houses. City of Ramsey ice rinks and warming houses were intended <br />to open this Friday, December 18, to coincide with the school district's holiday break. However, <br />as each week progresses with warmer than normal and above freezing temperatures, ice making <br />for Ramsey's two skating facilities becomes more delayed. Flooding of the rinks cannot begin <br />until the ground is firmly frozen an inch or more, after which a week is needed to prepare skateable <br />ice. Staff will provide updates on the status of the ice rinks in the coming weeks. <br />Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard Interchange Construction Update. The westbound <br />ramps north of Highway 10 opened to traffic on Friday, December 11. The Armstrong Boulevard <br />bridge over Highway 10 is scheduled to open to traffic on Wednesday, December 30, after which <br />the median crossover from westbound Highway 10 to Traprock Street will be permanently closed <br />to traffic. <br />City of Ramsey Annual Holiday Party Relocated to Rum River Hills Golf Course. Due to <br />scheduling complications, the City of Ramsey annual Boards, Commissions and Employee <br />Appreciation Holiday Party has been relocated to McDuff s Bar & Grill at the Rum River Hills <br />Golf Course. The event will still take place on Friday, January 8th from 4:31 pm until 10:00 pm. <br />Updated invitations were sent out last week. Please RSVP to Kathy Schmitz by Tuesday, Dec. <br />22nd if you plan to attend. Attached to the Weekly Update is the City of Ramsey Annual Holiday <br />Party Invitation Flyer. <br />Granny's Closet of Anoka County Collection Site at Ramsey City Hall. The City of Ramsey <br />will once again be hosting a collection site for Granny's Closet of Anoka County this holiday <br />season! Granny's Closet is a local non-profit volunteer organization that collects new items for <br />seniors in need. This year, Granny's Closet will provide gifts to an average of 400 seniors involved <br />in their program. <br />
