December 23, 2015
Preview of Next Week
Please Note: City Offices will be closed on Thursday, December 24, and
Friday, December 25 in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Council Update
Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard Interchange Construction Update. The Armstrong
Boulevard bridge over Highway 10 is on schedule to open to traffic on Wednesday, December 30,
2015. Once the bridge over Highway 10 opens to traffic, the median crossover from westbound
Highway 10 to Traprock Street will be closed permanently. Work on the interchange will proceed
through the winter so please continue to drive carefully through all work zones.
Ice Rink Update. The warmer than normal and above freezing temperatures have delayed ice
making for Ramsey's two skating rink facilities.
Normally, the warming houses are open for the winter on
the third Friday of December. Flooding of the rinks
cannot begin until the ground is firmly frozen an inch or
more, after which at Jeast a week is needed to prepare
skateable ice.
Public Works staff was able to flood overnight beginning L
Sunday and Monday. If temperatures are cold enough, this will begin again, at midnight, Sunday,
December 27th, and continue through next week. The goal, weather permitting, is to have warming
houses open for the season either New Year's Eve (hours 10 AM to 6 PM), or New Year's Day
from Noon to 8 PM. You can learn more about the Ramsey Elementary and Central Park ice rink
and warming house hours at the "Ice Rinks" link on our Parks, Trails & Recreation webpage.
www.cityoframsey.copL/parks-and-trails.
Metro Transit Considering Northsar Service Changes- Take the Survey to Give your
Feedback.
