Councilmember Reimarm - What should we pay per mile now? I feel $ .40 is
too high. What are the federal guidelines?

Mr. Berg - Federal guidelines are at $.20 or $.21 per mile.

Mayor Gamec - Mileage reimbursement is not that great a factor in the
budget now that we have two city cars.

Jeam~e Moen - We have approximately $700 allotted for mileage in the
budget and probably will not use all of that.

Mr. Sctmelle - If you want to start cutting costs, why don't you cut down
on time consumed by street improvement projects.

Also, in regard to Street Improvement Project #81-12, Mr. Raatikka has
checked the quality of workmanship and he reports to me that everything
is just fine. I recommend Council authorize payment to Allied Blacktop
for sealcoating tonight.

Councilmember Reimann - We should have report from Mr. Raatikka in writing.

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg, seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner,
to authorize payment to Allied Blacktop for sealcoating as soon as
written report from Mr. Raatikka is submitted to Mr. Schnelle.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg,
Reimann, and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cox.

Case #3 - Revenue Sharing

Mr. Schnelle - City is required to held a public hearing regarding proposed
uses of Revenue Sharing monies. Notice of public hearing should list the
proposed uses.

Councilmember Van Wagner - I feel that items that have to be repeated,
like the squad car for example, should not be included in Revenue Sharing.

Mayor Gamec - I suggest that the Water Truck, 4-Wheel Drive Truck,
Tractor/Blower/Broom, Solar Heat for Municipal Center, and Finishing of
Lower Level of Municipal Center be considered as ways of spending Revenue
monies.

Councilmember Reimann - One the money is budgeted and adopted, can it be
shifted to another category?

Mr. Schnelle - No. But it can be used within the same category.

Councilmember Van Wagner - Are we going to add parks to the list of
possibilities for Revenue Sharing?

Mayor Gamec ~ Spending money on improving parks is a problem because of
v~dalism.

C/October 1, 1981
Page 2
