Counci hnember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-03-063 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUATION OF THE METROPOLITAN <br />RADIO BOARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Radio Board (MRB) was authorized by the 1995 <br />Minnesota Legislature to plan, develop and implement a region-wide public safety radio <br />communications system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the MRB is composed of local government elected and appointed officials <br />as well as Metropolitan Councilmembers who recognize the high level of cooperation needed <br />among all users to ensure the system's success and the importance of local input and governance; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the MRB is achieving its legislative charge and worldng to provide <br />training, update the system, obtain federal funding and attract new members from within and <br />outside the region. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That thc Association of Metropolitan Municipalities supports the continued local <br />governance and input into the metropolitan public safety communications system <br />through the MRB and supports legislation to continue the MRB. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Cotmci hnember Kurak <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Counci hnember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />NOlle <br /> <br />and tiao following abstained: <br /> <br />NOlle <br /> <br /> <br />
