Perhaps: However, the Ice Rinks will be...Open for the season to revel
in the New Year! The warming houses will be open New Year's Day from Noon until 8 PM.
This start to the skating season at Central Park and Ramsey Elementary School is precisely two
weeks later than projected and the norm—as a result of the unseasonably warm start to the winter.
The ice surfaces are in fair condition, and Public Works staff will resume the daily flooding on
Monday, January 4th, and anticipates a quality skating experience later in the week (weather
permitting). Information on warming house hours and inclement weather closures is available on
the city's web site. Typically, the rinks are `done' in mid-February when there are back-to-back
40 degree sunny days.
Granny's Closet of Anoka County Collection Site at Ramsey City Hall. The City of Ramsey
is once again a host collection site for Granny's Closet of Anoka County this holiday season!
Granny's Closet is a local, non-profit volunteer organization that collects new items for seniors in
need. This year, Granny's Closet will provide gifts to an average of 400 seniors involved in their
program.
A drop-off box for Granny's Closet can be found in the lobby of the Ramsey City Hall. Please
consider donating a new, unwrapped item for those in need.
