Sec. 117-355. - Residential development off-street parking. <br />(a) In any residential district, inside parking of licensed and/or unlicensed motor vehicles and equipment, <br />in any number, commercial or private, shall be permitted. <br />(b) In any residential district, outside parking of any motor vehicle(s) and/or recreational equipment is <br />subject to the following conditions: <br />(1) Number of items. <br />a. Six items allows for outdoor storage and parking on parcels less than two acres in size. <br />b. Eight items allowed for outdoor storage and parking on parcels between two and 4.99 acres <br />in size. <br />c. Ten items allowed for outdoor storage and parking on parcels five acres or greater in size. <br />d. Items stored or parked separate from other items shall count as one item each; multiple <br />items stored or parked on a trailer, for instance, count as one item. (Example: two <br />snowmobiles and an empty trailer on the ground are three items; two snowmobiles on a <br />trailer are one item). <br />e. Items that will count towards the number restriction include, but are not limited to, the <br />following examples: motor vehicles, recreational vehicles, campers, boats, canoes, <br />snowmobiles, jet -skis, all terrain vehicles, go-carts, motocross bikes, motorcycles, fish <br />houses, and other recreational equipment and self-propelled vehicles. <br />f. Exceptions: Items that will not count towards the number restriction include those items <br />typically seen as accessory to a residential use. Examples would be lawnmowers, garden <br />tractors and attachments, bicycles, wheelbarrows, play structures, stepladders, and other <br />items used for routine home and lawn maintenance. <br />g. <br />Increase in the number of items will be allowed through an administrative zoning permit at <br />the discretion of the zoning administrator if the applicant can demonstrate a higher number <br />of drivers, topographical issues on the lot or other practical difficulties. <br />(2) Location and setbacks. <br />a. Motor vehicles parked or stored in a side or rear <br />yard shall maintain a setback of at least 5 feet from the edge of the Park ina surface to the lot <br />line(s). <br />2. Equipment parked or stored in the side yard shall maintain a setback of at least 5 feet from <br />the edge of the Park ina surface to the lot line(s). <br />3. Equipment parked or stored in the rear yard shall maintain a setback of at least 5 feet from <br />the lot line(s). <br />_b. On parcels two acres or greater: <br />1. Motor vehicles stored or parked in a side or rear yard shall mnint tin n 1 G foot setback <br />from the edge of the parking surface to the lot line. <br />2.
