CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 05/26/2015 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />4. 12. <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #15-05-131 Proclaiming June 6, 2015 as American Cancer Society Bark For Life Day in the City <br />of Ramsey <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this Consent Item is to formally adopt a resolution proclaiming American Cancer Society <br />Bark For Life Day in the City of Ramsey. <br />Background: Mayor Strommen was approached by Ramsey resident Kim Gust, Chair of the Bark For Life fund <br />raising event, to request the City Council proclaim Saturday, June 6, 2015, as Bark For Life Day in the City of <br />Ramsey. Ms. Gust is heading up the fourth annual Bark For Life, which is held at The Draw Park. The Bark For <br />Life is an American Cancer Society fund raising event that honors the care -giving qualities of canine companions <br />and supports the American Cancer Society mission of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer and more <br />birthdays - by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures for cancer and by fighting <br />back. The money raised during Bark For Life supports the American Cancer Society's life-saving mission. The last <br />three events held at The Draw have collectively raised over $25,000 for cancer research. The event is a <br />non-competitive walking event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. <br />During the Presentation portion of tonight's agenda, Mayor Strommen will be presenting the proclamation to Kim <br />Gust. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is recommending Council adopt the attached Resolution proclaiming Bark For Life Day. <br />Action: <br />Motion to Adopt Resolution #15-05-131 Proclaiming June 6, 2015, as American Cancer Society Bark For Life Day <br />in the City of Ramsey. <br />Attachments <br />Res Bark for Life <br />Form Review <br />Form Started By: Jo Thieling Started On: 05/15/2015 10:39 AM <br />Final Approval Date: 05/15/2015 <br />
