3. CITIZEN INPUT
John Enstrom, 8702 181St Avenue, stated that June 14th is Flag Day and he hosts the largest flag
retirement event in the State at his property. He welcomed everyone to attend the 10th annual
event and visit his property that Sunday at 1:00 p.m. He stated that there are all different sizes
and styles of flags that come in during the event, which are folded, stacked and counted before
being incinerated. He stated that anyone is welcome to attend and bring in any type of flag. He
reported that the main program begins at 3:00 p.m., noting that the new flag will be raised and a
riffle salute will be conducted. He advised that so far there are two guest speakers confirmed for
the event and stated that following the incineration of the flags there will be a potluck event. He
stated that perhaps the City could issue him a free burn permit for the retirement event. He
provided a link to his website, which features the event and stated that interested residents can
also telephone him with questions.
4.
