CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 06/09/2015 <br />Submitted For: Jeff Katers, Police <br />By: Jeff Katers, Police <br />Information <br />4.8. <br />Title <br />Approve Entering into a Security Agreement between the City of Ramsey and Local Government Information <br />Systems (LOGIS) for Interagency Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: To enter into an agreement with Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS) defining security <br />protocols and responsibilities for access to Criminal Justice Information Services. <br />Background: The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) requires law <br />enforcement agencies that receive criminal justice data such as : criminal histories, national crime information <br />center data, warrants, stolen vehicle files, etc. to comply with security protocols established in the FBI CJIS <br />Security Policy. <br />The Ramsey Police Department receives Criminal Justice Information Services data. LOGIS provides IT and <br />network infrastructure support to several municipalities and government entities including the Ramsey Police <br />Department. LOGIS staff are very familiar and compliant with FBI CJIS security protocols. <br />The attached agreement defines the responsibilities of both the city of Ramsey and LOGIS staff in adhering to CJIS <br />security policy.
