Page 3
Regular Council
February 12~ 1979

Page 3 Paragraph 7 (Page 11 Paragraph 2 of the January 29,
1979 minutes) should read:
Councilman Cox suggested the City Staff work on getting some-
thing together on a need for the grant and present it at the
January 22, 1979 regular Council meeting. It was the general
concensus of the Council that Councilman Cox would work with
the staff and report to the Council any follow-up.

Page 4 Paragraph 11 (sub paragraph 3) should read:
That the applicant, GM Investment Company, is the fee owner of
a portion of the property and a contract for deed purchase of
a portion of the property from Daniel McGinnis.

Page 5 Paragraph 2 (sub paragraph 7) should read:
That the property lies adjacent to railroad trackage and a
major thoroughfare highway.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilman Muller, Councilman
Reimann, Councilman Mickelson and Councilman Cox. Voting no None.

LETTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Councilman Cox stated that Mr. Rod Searle, Speaker of the House, House
of Representatives was at the Holiday Inn in Anoka, He had started a
discussion with him on the legislation of local state aid but had to
leave to attend the Ramsey City Council meeting. He was asking that he
be excused about 9:00 P.M. to return to the Holiday Inn and continue his
discussion with Mr. Searle and possibly take some more information with
him. It was decided to have a letter to Governor Quie typed and he would
take that as it dealt with the inequities in the state local aid formula.

It was discussed with the Council the possibility of doing something with
the intersection~of. ~ighway #47 and County Road #5 as there had been
another fatal~c~t just two weeks prior. It was noted the State
Highway Department had moved up the time from 1981 to 1980 on the installing
a stop light on the intersection of County Road #57 and Highway #10 and it
was felt this would ease some of the traffic on Highway #47 and County Road

COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT REPORT BY COUNCILMAN COX

(This item moved up from new business)

Councilman Cox gave a verbal report and also a written report prepared by
Mr. Bernie Steffens who was engaged by the City to prepare a preapplication
for a Community Block Grant.

Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson for the
City to proceed ahead with its application for a Community Center.

Motion carried.
