Page 8 <br />Regular Council <br />February 12, 1979 <br /> <br />Muller's position and that they are to submit an application stating their <br />name, address, length of residence in Ramsey and their qualifications for <br />the Council position, that such applications are to be accepted until 5:00 <br />P.M. March 2, 1979 and that the Council will review and make the appoint- <br />ment at their March 26, 1979 meeting and such appointment will take effect <br />on April 2, 1979. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilman Reimann and Councilman <br />Mickelson. Voting no None. Councilman Muller Abstained. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted at this time that a letter of appreciation be sent to <br />both John Zobava and Councilman Robert Muller for their time of service to <br />the community. <br /> <br />ACTING CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle was requesting the Council appoint a member of <br />the City Staff as the Acting City Administrator to take the official respon- <br />sibilities of the Administrator in the absence of the administrator. He <br />was asking that Clayton Berg be appointed to this position as he had been <br />exposed to these responsibilities when the City was left without an admini- <br />strator in the summer of 1978. <br /> <br />It was the general concensus of the Council to have this reviewed in the <br />Personnel Committee and make a recommendation to the Council. <br /> <br />MINNESOTA CITIES WEEK <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle reported to the Council he had received a letter <br />stating that February 26, 1979 to March 2, 1979 was declared Minnesota Cities <br />Week. They were asking the cities of Minnesota adopt a resolution proclaiming <br />our participation in the Minnesota Cities Week and return it to the Governor <br />of Minnesota. The slogan for this week is Cities -- Where the People Are. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Muller to adopt <br />resolution #79-B~declaring Ramsey's participation in the Minnesota Cities <br />Week February 26, 1979 through March 2, 1979. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilman Muller, Councilman <br />Reimann and Councilman Mickelson. Voting no None. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann reported to the Council there was an article in the <br />Minneapolis Star on the SAC charges and felt everyone should read it as he <br />had found it very informing. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported that Ms. goan Thunell had been elected to a Vice Chair- <br />person position of the District #11 Community Education district-wide advisory <br />council and that Marc Hadley had'been elected the Secretary of the same ad- <br />visory council. Mayor Gamec felt a letter be sent to them congratulating <br />them on their new positions and offering our support. <br /> <br /> <br />
