Voting no: None. <br /> <br />RAMSEY AUTO BODY (Formerly Bill's Auto Body) REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CONCRETE <br /> <br />BLOCK BUILDING <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Aydt and Mr. Craig Pladsen approached the Council regarding his intention <br />to construct another building (40' X 70') for expansion of his existing business. <br />He mentioned the possibility of subdividing a portion of his pmoperty into <br />three one-acre lots and Mr. Plason constructing a self-service oar wash on the <br />property. A discussion was held on a driveway for the car wash. <br /> <br />A discussion was also held regarding the UMB zoning which was granted to Mr. Aydt <br />so that his investment would have protection for future resale. <br /> <br />In this regard, the City attorney alluded to Paragraph 170.015 I(3) Areas of <br />Standards and Permitted Uses for UMB Districts which showed permitted uses for this <br />zoning; he also pointed out, the portion stating 'Retail business if~the City Council <br />Shall Find No Adverse Impact on the Area." <br /> <br />It was noted that Mr. Aydt had been given a zoning of UMB to act as a buffer <br />between residential and commercial. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann that Mr. Aydt is <br />presently maintaining and operating a body shop which the Council feels is a <br />permitted use of the UMB zoning which they approved for Mr. Aydt and an expansion of <br />that pa.rticular use will be also permitted under the present zoning. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson~ Reimann <br />and Sortebemg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Note was made that the new building will be part of the existing business in the <br />existing building. <br /> <br />ACCESSORY BUILDING: CASE OF STANLEY BROWNING <br /> <br />Mr. Browning was not present to discuss his request for.an accessory building. <br />It was noted that Mr. Browning appears to be operating an auto repair or junk <br />business in an R-1 (Residential-single family) zoned area and this type of business <br />is not a permitted use. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said that whatever legal action necessary should be taken to <br />cease the operation~ citizens have already complained about it. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, s~eonded by Councilman Mickelson to table this case until <br />Mr. Browning appears before Council to present his request. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR INSTALLATION OF LIGHT AT ENTRANCE T0~RAMSEY MUNICIPAL~CENTER DRIVEWAY <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilan Cox to authorize the <br />installation of a 175 watt light (street/security) at the entrance to the Municipal <br />~enter. <br /> <br /> <br />
