PAGE 4 <br />MAY 29, 1979 <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann asked that warning signal lights by the elementary s~hool be <br />looked into. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked that the railroad crossing at Puma Street be studied for a <br />traffic safety device. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich reported that he appeared before Judge Larson on May 10, 1979, <br />on behalf of the City regarding the Holker lawsuit. <br /> <br />The Judge ruled that further factual information would have to be presented by <br />Holker. The case is stayed until it goes to court and the Judge is looking into <br />the facts. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />CRITICAL RIVERS <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Peterson, Planning Commission Chairman, said the Commission had started <br />on this Plan last August and since that time they have held two informal hearings <br />and an official public hearing. The final study was comprised based on input <br />from citizens involved and information referred to them from Dexter Marston, <br />Wehrman, Chapman Associates, Inc. He noted that Council has before~them a copy <br />of the Summary of Policy Statement. He noted items that had been deleted and one <br />item that was tabled. He reported that more than a year ago, Faye Construction <br />appeared before Planning and Z~ning and City Council asking that tentative approval <br />be made of their plan so that it could be submitted to the planner for incorporation <br />into the plan. It is something that never got to the planner. Faye Construction has <br />indicated that they will go along with our existing zoning. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked how Dexter Marston felt about the changes. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson read a letter from Mr. Marston regarding the Critical Areas Plan. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said he feels it is up to the City to explain whay the changes we.re made. <br />Mr. Marston understands the reason why the changes were made. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt the Critical <br />Areas Plan as presented by Planning & Zoning Commission'. <br /> <br />Council expressed their appreciation for the amount of work the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission has put into the Plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting ~o: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to senna letter to <br />Mr. Les Wirz, City Assessor, on the good job he did on the Board of Review. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br /> <br />
