PAGE 4 MAY 29, 1979 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING Councilman Reimann asked that warning signal lights by the elementary s~hool be looked into. Councilman Cox asked that the railroad crossing at Puma Street be studied for a traffic safety device. Attorney Goodrich reported that he appeared before Judge Larson on May 10, 1979, on behalf of the City regarding the Holker lawsuit. The Judge ruled that further factual information would have to be presented by Holker. The case is stayed until it goes to court and the Judge is looking into the facts. OLD BUSINESS CRITICAL RIVERS Mr. Ken Peterson, Planning Commission Chairman, said the Commission had started on this Plan last August and since that time they have held two informal hearings and an official public hearing. The final study was comprised based on input from citizens involved and information referred to them from Dexter Marston, Wehrman, Chapman Associates, Inc. He noted that Council has before~them a copy of the Summary of Policy Statement. He noted items that had been deleted and one item that was tabled. He reported that more than a year ago, Faye Construction appeared before Planning and Z~ning and City Council asking that tentative approval be made of their plan so that it could be submitted to the planner for incorporation into the plan. It is something that never got to the planner. Faye Construction has indicated that they will go along with our existing zoning. Councilman Cox asked how Dexter Marston felt about the changes. Ken Peterson read a letter from Mr. Marston regarding the Critical Areas Plan. Mayor Gamec said he feels it is up to the City to explain whay the changes we.re made. Mr. Marston understands the reason why the changes were made. Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt the Critical Areas Plan as presented by Planning & Zoning Commission'. Council expressed their appreciation for the amount of work the Planning & Zoning Commission has put into the Plan. Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting ~o: None. Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to senna letter to Mr. Les Wirz, City Assessor, on the good job he did on the Board of Review. Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting no: None.
