He said he applied for a gun permit from the police department and
was turned down and wants to know the reason for denial and why none are
issued. He said he has filded a notice with the NRA as to why he is being
denied this permit. He reports that he lives in an isolated area and with
burglaries, parties, etc. that go on in his neighborhood he wants to carry
a gun for protection of his home and family.

Mayor Gamec explained to Mr. Collins that in most cases where citizens
are having problems it is best to call the police and let them handle
the situation. As far as denial of the gun permit, Council will contact
the Ptice Chief and City's legal counsel as to the reason why and report
the findings in writing to Mr. Collins.

Mr. Collins also complained of a wrecking operation being conducted in his
neighborhood and he was informed by Mayor Gamec that this situation has
been turned over to the City Attorney.

Mr. Collins asked who is going to clean up the debris in the street that has
been left over from the wild teenage party recently in his neighborhood.
He was informed that the City would look into this matter.
Councilman Cox explained to Mr. Collins that if he is conducting a business
from his home he will need to apply for a home occupancy permit.

Special Meetinq
October 29, 1979
Co_~._c i 1
