Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to authorize <br />the City Attorney to negotiate according to the report. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich also reported on Variolite Project and two parties Makowsky and <br />Brown that would have to be negotiated with on easements needed in that area. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich is to offer the price suggested by their appraisers to <br />Makowsky and Brown. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich reported that the Ham Lake subdivision Bill has been adopted <br />by the Legislature. He will forward a letter to Representative Clawson and <br />Senator Anderson to get a similar Bill passed for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich is to review the matter of possibly adopting a fence ordinance <br />for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 79-18 amending Chapter 10.011 "Meetings" of the City Code. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON HIRING CITY ENGINEER <br /> <br />Councilman Cox expressed concern that without developments, projects, etc., and <br />that the City budget may not be able to afford an engineer at this time that <br />possibly it should be delayed. He feels the present consulting engineer displays <br />as much personal concern for the City and that until more public works projects <br />come in, it may not be the right time to hire a full time engineer. <br /> <br />M~yor Gamec suggested that this subject be discussed after the applications <br />are received since the ad has already been placed and see what kind of response <br />is received, etc., before any further action is taken on this matter. <br /> <br />Motion by MAyor Gamec and seconded by Councilman Reimann to wait until the <br />applications for city engineer are received and review the issue at that time. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR APPROVAL <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to pay the <br />Bills for the month of December, total disbursements $44,638.08. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Council/December 10, 1979/Page 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
