The state legislative session starts on March 8. Stay <br />tuned. <br />Ramsey Lions Donate 5 AEDs to Local Ramsey Restaurants. Since officially earning Ramsey <br />the title of a Heart Safe Community in. July 2015, the Heart Safe -Ramsey program has not slowed <br />its efforts to increase survival rates of sudden cardiac arrest. In addition to educating the public in <br />bystander CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), part of these efforts <br />include ensuring proper coverage of public access defibrillators throughout our city. <br />Recently, the program received a generous donation of five (5) AEDs from the Ramsey Lions <br />Club. These AEDs were donated to local area restaurants including JR's Outpost, Willy McCoy's, <br />Super Bowl, McDuff s Eatery and Pub, and Northwoods Bar and Grill. Heart Safe- Ramsey <br />Champion, Tim Hoffman, will offer training to these groups so that they can learn how bystander <br />CPR and their new AEDs could help them save a life. <br />You can register your business or organization for bystander CPR and AED training as well! These <br />training sessions are offered on the first Monday of every month at the Ramsey. City Hall and are <br />FREE to all Ramsey residents and businesses. The Public Accuracy test for the Senate District 35 Election was <br />conducted this past Wednesday. morning. All machines checked out fine and are set in Elections <br />mode for Tuesday morning. City hall will be open Saturday, February 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 <br />p.m. for in-person absentee voting. City Hall is also open an additional half hour on Monday <br />evening, February 8, for in-person absentee voting as well. <br />Charter Vacancy. There is currently a vacancy on the City's Charter Commission. An ad will <br />be placed in the Anoka County Union Herald, Anoka County Record, Ramsey Resident, and on the <br />City's website. After 28 years of service with the City's Fire <br />Department, Chief Kapler will be retiring on March 1.
