Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) Rulemaking Update. The Minnesota <br />DNR has informed the City that the Governor has approved MRCCA Rulemaking to proceed <br />forward to the final, formal phase of rulemaking. Staff will be attending a workshop on March 4 <br />and will provide a further update then. A Public Hearing will occur soon. <br />Build It, and They Will Come: The MRT and Ramsey Tourism. Following the completion of <br />the Mississippi River Trail to Anoka's King's Island and the MRT way -finding signing state-wide, <br />more bikers are being spotted pedaling through the city. Most of these are single riders, or pairs <br />of people. However, more groups are expected, like the 50+ cyclist's that biked from the <br />Headwaters at Lake Itasca State Park to the Iowa border last August. The attached flyer announces <br />one such group that will be pedaling from Minneapolis to Ramsey this coming May. The Lunch <br />Box Cafe will be benefiting by providing the mid-day meal for this tour of 25-30 bikers. Attached <br />to the Weekly Update is a Flyer Regarding the Headwaters to Hills Reunion Ride. <br />Save the Date: <br />• Anoka Area Chamber Gala. The Annual Anoka Area Chamber Gala Dinner:Fundraiser <br />will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016, at The Courtyards of Andover located at 13545 <br />Martin Street in Andover. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm — followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. <br />The City has once again purchased tickets for a table of eight. As with other events, <br />Councilmembers' tickets will be paid for by the City, however, if you would like to bring <br />a guest, you will have to pay for their ticket. The cost of the Gala is $75 per person. Please <br />RSVP to Kathy Schmitz, kschmitz(.p rt oframsey.com or 763-433-9844, as soon as <br />possible. In your response to the invitation, please also let her know if you plan to bring a <br />guest. After 28 years of service with the City's <br />Fire Department, Chief Kapler will be retiring on March 1. Please join him for a cake and <br />coffee open house reception in the Alexander Ramsey Room on Thursday, February 25, <br />between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. A presentation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Attached to the <br />Weekly Update is an Invitation to Chief Kapler's Open House Reception. <br />• Local Government Officials Meeting.
