impact to residents, investments, and future budgets. She stated that if the Council looked only <br />at this year, there is room on the table for the additional personnel investments and there would <br />be value to adding those positions, but noted that there would be an impact on future budgets. <br />She stated that the Council has to be aware of other investments that will be needed in future <br />years that were not included yet at this time and wants to ensure that the best investments are <br />made to meet the goals and needs of the community. She believes that the budget allows the <br />City to move forward balancing investments with what will be needed in future years. She <br />thanked the Council and staff for their hard work on this budget and the discussions that were <br />had during the past several months. <br />Motion by Councilmember Shryock, seconded by Councilmember Johns, to Adopt Resolution <br />#15-12-294 Adopting the 2015, Payable in 2016, Municipal Tax Levy. <br />Further discussion: Councilmember LeTourneau stated that he agrees that not everyone is <br />getting what they wanted but he will support the motions in order to have solidarity moving <br />forward. <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br />Mayor Strommen thanked Finance Director Lund for her hard work on the budget and City <br />Administrator Ulrich for his incorporation of the Strategic Plan into the budget process. She also <br />thankedtheir staff members for their hard work as well. <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />7.01: Consider Adopting Resolution #15-12-297 Authorizing the Acquisition of Land for <br />Lake Itasca Community Park and Satisfying Park Dedication Obligations for <br />Northfork Inc. <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood provided background information <br />on the history of park planning for the Lake Itasca Community Park. He stated that the project <br />would not have come to fruition without the support of the members of the Council and thanked <br />the Council on behalf of the Park Commission for their leadership but also for the special talent <br />that may be described as discernment. <br />City Council / December 8, 2015 <br />Page 5 of 9 <br />
