Regular Meeting May 23, 1977 Page 5 RE: Gilbert A. Menkveld's mobile home permit. He was granted a special use permit which was in his name only. If he does not act on it in five years, it could be revoked. It was felt that Attorney Goodrich should do a little investigating on it and report back at the next Council meeting. The licensing ordinance requires a license and a bond of $£,000.00 to operate an automobile repair shop in the city. The attorney wondered if it was necessary to require this bond from a small garage type of business. The intent of this was to protect the public from a larger used car sales person. The Council indicated that since it is an ordinance it should be followed in the strictest sense and the bond should be required. Attorney Goodrich presented a resolution to the Council regarding a lawsuit between Donna F. Nelson and certain members of the council. There will be a pretrial conference on June 6th and Attorney Goodrich would like two people to attend this conference. Mayor Cox and Councilman Reimann will attend this meeting. NOTION by Reimann, seconded by Mickelson, to pass Resolution $0 in which the City of Ramsey shall defend, save harmless andindemnify all the defendants in that lawsuit heretofore described from any award of damages of whatever nature which may be awarded against any one or more of them as a result of said lawsuit. 3 Ayes MOTION by Mickelson, seconded by Reimann, to appoint two members of the Council to attend the pretrial conference on June 6th, 1977. 3 Ayes BILLS FOR APPROVAL MOTION by Reimann, Seconded byMickelson to approve the following bills for the month of May 1977, General Fund Checks ~4635 thru 4722 = $27,106.00 ($5,138.99/ police car from Revenue Sharing Fund).
