<br />oversees the purchase of land and
<br />improvements for those parks.

<br />The Council's new Thrive MSP 2040 identifies
<br />five desired outcomes that define a 30 -year
<br />vision for the region. The work of the
<br />Community Development Division plays a
<br />part in each of these five outcomes.
<br />Accomplishing the division's responsibilities
<br />toward the five outcomes includes both
<br />3hallenges and opportunities:

<br />• Funding the purchase of priority natural
<br />resources to include in the Regional Park
<br />System
<br />• Encouraging communities to locate and
<br />design development that preserves the
<br />natural environment, supports the transit
