Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #16-01-028 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY TO WITHHOLD CERTAIN TAX <br />FORFEIT LAND FROM PUBLIC SALE AND AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF TAX <br />FORFEIT PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC PURPOSE <br />WHEREAS, Outlot A AMBER RIDGE 2ND ADDITION, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota, PIN #25-32-25-24-0057, has forfeited to the State of Minnesota for non-payment of <br />taxes (The "Subject Property A"); and <br />WHEREAS, the parcel encumbers the pedestrian trail along TH 47 and the City owns the <br />parcel to the north; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the City to acquire the Subject Property <br />A for additional right-of-way for trail purposes. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESTOA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to complete the application <br />for a state use deed and any other necessary paperwork to secure ownership of the Subject <br />Property A for future roadway/trail purpose. <br />2) That the Council hereby authorizes the costs the City would incur by acquiring the tax <br />forfeit properties to be taken from the Public Improvement Revolving Fund for the <br />acquisition of Subject Property A. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Shryock, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Shryock <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Williams <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
