Page 2 <br />Special Council <br />9-5-78 <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson then stated some years back dry wells had been put in <br />the ground. Now the area is all built up over them and the water can't <br />go anywhere. The last bit of drainage was given away when Grosslein was <br />granted his variance. <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson stated they would be happy to have ditches but wondered <br />where the water is to go -- river? <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said it would go to the river. <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson, Jr. said there are five to seven semis through there a <br />day and the oil and gas would be washed to the river. <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson stated they didn't want that washing over their land. <br /> <br />It was stated that the PCA would stop that before it would get to the <br />river. They would be against the ditch. <br /> <br />Mrs. Roger Dickenson read from an article in a paper which stated sanitary <br />sewer is a long way off and we have to take care of our own systems. <br /> <br />Mr. Carl Anderson stated the property across Highway #10 (Kovar Manu.) <br />solved his drainage by installing dry wells on his own property. <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson asked if they can have dry wells for their area. <br /> <br />He was told the owner would have to have them pumped and take care of <br />them. <br /> <br />Carl Anderson stated dry wells would be better than a percolation basin <br />and it wouldn't be a mosquito haven. <br /> <br />Motion by Gary Reimann and seconded by Bob Muller to adjourn the special <br />meeting. <br /> <br />5 ayes <br />Motion carried <br /> <br /> <br />
