Regular Council Page 5 November 27~ 1978 CHIEF MIKE AUSPOS REQUEST TO HIRE OFFICER O~ief Auspos was present with a request to hire Mr. Robert Charles Kuhn as the officer he was authorized to hire as of January 1, 1979. Chief Auspos stated Mr. Kuhn is presently with the Princeton Police Department and would like Council's approval now to give Mr. Kuhn sufficient time to give notice with his present employer. Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Gamec to hire Mr. Robert Charles Kuhn at a rate of $13,036 starting January 1, 1979 for a six month probationary period with regular police policy. Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman Mickelson, Councilman Gamec, Council- man Reimann, Councilman Muller and Mayor Cox. Voting no None. NELSON VS. COX LAWSUIT Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Gamec to adopt the following resolution #78-45: WHEREA5 Mayor Cox, Councilmen Reimann and Mickelson and former Council- man Gorham are the defendants in the United States District Court Law Suit known as Donna Nelson vs. Arnold L. Cox individually and as Mayor of the City of Ramsey, Gary Reimann, Gary Gorham and David Mickelson individually and as Councilmen of the City of Ramsey and, ~-~REAS the City Council previously passed a resolution to indemnify the above named defendants for their attorneys fees in defense of the action and any damages awarded against them and WHEREAS the above defendants upon advise and consultation with their attorneys and the Court feel that it is economically in their best interests and in the best interests of the City that the.matter be settled without admitting any liability on the defendants part. Now, therefore, it is hereby resolved that the City pay to the Defendant Donna Nelson $6,500 as and :for a complete and full settlement of this matter; that $5,000 of said $6,500 be paid the defendant on or before December 4, 1978 and that the balance be paid on or before January 4, 1979. Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman-Gamec, Councilman Mickelson, Council- man Reimann, Councilman Muller and Mayor Cox. Voting no None. NEW BUSINESS ADOPTION OF ASSESSMENT RESOLUTIONS Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt resolution #78-44 for Assessing out Construction Project #78-2 Greenland Hills #2. Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman Gamec, Councilman Mickelson, Council- man Reimann, Councilman Muller and Mayor Cox. Voting no None.
