CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Members Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />1. <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Councilmember Melody Shryock <br />Councilmember Kristine Williams <br />None <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief Jeff Katers <br />Community Development Director Timothy Gladhill <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Patrick Brama <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:00 p.m., <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Strommen. <br />2. PRESENTATION <br />2.01: Recognize Heart Safe Ramsey Milestone — Over 1,000 Residents Trained in CPR <br />and AED Use <br />Tim Hoffman reported that Ramsey Heart Safe surpasses the 1,000 residents trained mark and <br />puts the combination of Ramsey and the two other municipalities that with Ramsey at the mark <br />of 13,000 residents trained in Anoka County. He stated that he does receive calls from people <br />interested in joining as the vision and mission is spreading across Anoka County. He stated that <br />a local officer is actually in England right now conducting training for a community that found <br />out about the program on social media. He provided an example of a resident that had an <br />incident in Coon Rapids and was saved due to the efforts and training provided by the program, <br />and has now joined the program and is focusing on youth sports. He played a short video clip. <br />that was developed for Heart Safe Ramsey. He thanked the Ramsey Lions, the City of Ramsey <br />City Council / February 23, 2016 <br />Page 2 of 9 <br />
