o A full access should be at least 845 feet from Armstrong Boulevard and a right
in/right out access should be at least 470 feet from Armstrong Boulevard.
• Bunker Lake Boulevard (west of commercial section): Expand to a four lane section for
development (two westbound through lanes, one eastbound through lane and one
center left turn lane).
o Right turn lanes (locations and lengths) will be determined based on
development type.
o Outside westbound through lane drops to a right turn lane into the school
property.
• Puma Street: Expand to a three lane section for development (two through lanes and
one center left turn lane).
o Right turn lanes (locations and lengths) will be determined based on
development type.
• Bunker Lake Boulevard & Puma Street: An all -way stop, two-way stop, or roundabout
will operate adequately at this intersection for the 2040 Full -Build conditions. The
roundabout option may offer better operations than the other two options at 2040
Full -Build.
Mid -Term Improvements
• Armstrong Boulevard & Alpine Drive: Add northbound and southbound left turn lanes.
Modify eastbound and westbound lanes to include a thru/left and a right turn lane.
Another option at this location includes construction of a multi -lane roundabout with
single lanes of approach on the eastbound, southbound, and westbound legs and two
lanes of approach on the northbound leg. The completion of an Intersection Control
Report (ICR) is recommended to determine the best intersection control at this
intersection.
• Alpine Drive & Puma Street: Add a westbound left turn lane and eastbound right turn
lane.
• Armstrong Boulevard & Bunker Lake Boulevard: Re -stripe southbound lanes to include
a dual southbound left turn lane. A southbound double left turn lane will help reduce
queues entering the COR development. Improvements were done in 2011 to this
intersection and a future southbound left turn lane was designed, but not striped.
Long -Term Improvements
• Armstrong Boulevard & Bunker Lake Boulevard: Modify the southerly eastbound
through lane to a through -right lane. Another option would be to keep the two through
lanes and modify the right turn lane into a free right with an add lane that runs south
to T.H. 10, or potentially add an additional right turn lane.
Prepared by: Bolton & Menk, Inc.
