Chairperson Steffen asked Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama if he could <br />identify the 24 businesses. <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama asked to bring this back to the next <br />EDA meeting with the proposed businesses listed and options for coordination. <br />Chairperson Steffen thought staff could bring back a list of more than 24 and they, as an EDA, <br />can whittle it down. <br />Member Brunt stated there are a lot of things they are asking staff to do and realize staff is <br />limited and they should prioritize the items for staff. <br />Member Riley stated he would like to have Mr. Aarsvold to review fiscal disparities for Item <br />4.01. <br />Mr. Jason Aarsvold, Ehlers reviewed fiscal disparities with the Board. <br />Member Riley asked when they are looking at the City numbers, they do not include any fiscal <br />disparities and is that their advisement or a requirement. He thought there should be a way they <br />can look at it but not depend on it. <br />Mr. Aarsvold stated their recommendation is the right way to look at it is in their report because <br />the taxes shown are what the City knows they will collect. <br />4.03: Continued Discussion Related to Annual Ramsey EDA Business Expo <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama presented the staff report. <br />Chairperson Steffen asked after the expo last year did staff feel like there was a reduction in <br />momentum as far as attendance of vendors and residents. <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated since the Environmental Expo <br />parted ways with the EDA Business Expo there has been an uptick on Happy Days attendance <br />and popularity. It seems like the Spring Business Expo has become flat lined for the past few <br />years. <br />Member Hardin stated he hated to see Ramsey give up the Business Expo and thought they could <br />have another business expo and job fair mixed together in order to change the focus of the event. <br />Member Burandt asked how many hours does staff take up to put on the expo event. <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated he did not have exact numbers <br />but there are two staff members who are covering this event and he thought they spent <br />approximately forty to eighty hours on this event. <br />Economic Development Authority/January 7, 2016 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
