If those <br />requirements need amending, the conditional use permit would be amended <br />with a public hearing. The conditional use permit would address issues <br />such as parking, storage of materials, etc. It's the Commission's business <br />to find out the operation and what is objectionable to the neighbors about <br />that operation. <br /> <br />Pat Boedigheimer - Stated that he was objecting to a business in a <br />residential area. <br /> <br />Jim Holm - Stated that if the business weren't obvious, few would object. <br />However, everyone can see Mr. Ostlund's business. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howell inquired as to hew long Mr. Ostlund has lived at this <br />property. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund - Replied that he has lived at this address since 1986. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howell inquired as to how long Mr. Ostlund has been operating <br />a business from his home. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund - Replied that he has operated from this home for one year and <br />before that he operated from his home in Coon Rapids for three years and <br />had not received any complaints. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howell inquired as to Mr. Ostlund's lot size. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund - Replied that his lot is 2-1/2 acres. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson explained that the Planning Commission is an advisory <br />commission and will make a recommendation to the City Council and City <br />Council will take final action on the request. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer inquired if Mr. Ostlund was told that a business use <br />would be permitted on the property when he purchased it. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund - Replied that he was not told that he could operate a business <br />from the property, but that issue was not specifically addressed. <br /> <br />Mr. Weisenburger - 8005 142nd Avenue E~V - Inquired why there is even any <br />discussion when the property is zoned for residential use. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson replied that the City offers conditional use permits for <br />certain home occupations and allows them to be non-conforming uses with <br />specific conditions for operation.
