That the City received four letters regarding Mr. Ostlund's <br /> request; all four were opposed. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Z immerman, <br />Deemer, Shumway, LaDue and Howell. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated that the outside storage of business vehicles <br />presents a problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund inquired if his request would be looked upon more favorably if <br />he built a garage for his business vehicles. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman replied that Council has taken a stand to discourage <br />home occupations. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer noted that any home occupation that requires employees <br />to arrive at the home is not allowed. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund noted that he carried on this same business on his urban size <br />lot in Coon Rapids and he did not receive any complaints from the city. <br /> <br />Mel Boser - Stated that as a neighbor, his concern is that this <br />neighborhood does not get like neighborhoods in Coon Rapids where <br />businesses are growing in residential areas. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to <br />recommend denial of Mr. Gary Ostlund's request for a conditional use permit <br />to operate an electrical contracting business from his home at 14290 Alpaca <br />Street N.W. <br /> <br />Case~2: Request For Conditional Use Permit To Operate A Beauty Salon <br /> From Home~ Case Of Ms. DebraDubois: <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Zimmerman and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to <br />recommend adoption of the findings of fact relating to Ms. Debra Dubois' <br />request for a conditional use permit with the following amendments: <br /> <br />Items 11, 13, and 16 through 21 should reference the City Code from <br />which they are quoted. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
