Letter dated January 8, 1987 from ISO Commercial Risk Services, Inc. <br /> <br />Case #2: Discussion Re~_ardinq Rural Residential Densities <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen requested that the Commission discuss this before it <br />addresses other cases as this may have an impact on other cases. For instance, <br />the Council's concern regarding the safety of Ken Johnson's plat. The <br />Commission needs a clear understanding of the Council's policies regarding the <br />platting process. <br /> <br />The Commission noted the Metropolitan Council's proposed use of performance <br />standards when determining rural residential densities. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request for Site Plan Review of Commercial Development in RiveI!s <br /> Bend Plaza P.U.D.; Case of Weis Companies <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Dreher of Dreher and Associates and Mr. Mike Wilkus of Weis Companies <br />were present and explained the development would occur over 2 phases, with the <br />south portion being the first phase. It is hoped that construction may begin <br />by mid March. <br /> <br />Community Develot~nent Director Norris noted that the City Engineer commented <br />that the building needed to be moved approximately 5 feet to the west in order <br />to avoid the easement on the rear of the property. In addition, the access on <br />the south end of the property may be revised in order to be compatible with the <br />access from Food'n'Fuel. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to recommend <br />approval of the Weis Companies' site plan review for commercial development in <br />the River's Bend Plaza P.U.D. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Shumway, <br />Zimmerman, Deemer, Hendriksen, and LaDue. Voting no: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Howell. <br /> <br />Case #4: Request for Preliminary Plat Approval of Now and Then Estates: <br /> Case of Mr. Paul .Bertils <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner Zimmerman to <br />table action on Mr. Bertils' request until the Council provides the Commission <br />with some direction regarding plats with a single access and until soil borings <br />have been provided to the City Engineer for his review. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
