I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ANOKA COUNTY COMMUNITY HOUSING RESOURCE BOARD <br /> <br />WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION! <br /> <br />The Anoka County Community Housing Resource Board (ACCHRB) recently received <br />a one year grant of $25,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD) to implement their proposed work program to promote fair <br />housing in Anoka County. The ACCHRB project will accomplish the following <br />goals: <br /> <br />* Increase.public awareness of fair housing rights and responsibilities. <br /> <br />Provide educational resources about fair housing to REALTORS and to <br />service providers. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Develop a new voluntary community resource to provide advocacy for <br />fair housing. <br /> <br />Expand minority involvement in the housing industry. <br /> <br />Evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Voluntary <br />Affirmative Marketing Agreement (VAMA) in Anoka County. VA~iAs are <br />contracts between HUD and national organizations involved in housing <br />to implement the Civil Rights Act of 1968. <br /> <br />I <br />! <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The ACCHRB will complete the work program through three major task forces <br />chaired by Board members. A workplan and timetable have been completed <br />for each task force. Volunteers are presently being recruited to serve <br />on the following: <br /> <br />CONFERENCE TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Chairperson: <br /> <br />Purpose: <br /> <br />Activities: <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Kolys.zko, Four Star Realty <br />780-5500 <br />To provide training and orientation to REALTORS and <br />service providers in fair housing. <br />Conduct for "roundtable" seminars, <br /> <br />PLANNING/EVALUATION TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Chairperson: Mr. Joe Grillo, City of Coon Rapids <br /> 755-2880 <br />Purpose: To assess fair housing needs and %o evaluate the progress <br /> of the ACCHRB. <br />Activities: Conduct community fair housing needs assessment, prepare <br /> a written report evaluating ACCHRB, consult bi~nnually <br /> with the EEO Committee of the Anoka County Board of REALTORS. <br /> <br />OUTREACH/PUBLIC AWARENESS/ADVOCACY TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Chairperson: Ms. Maragret Langfeld, Anoka County Commissioner <br /> 757-3158 <br /> <br /> <br />
