I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

F ROM:

RE:

DATE:

City Administrator

Building Official

Monthly Report

February 15, 1983

Again, as in January, permit activity was almost nothing. However, optomism
continues to be high. Mr. Bob Muller and his architect have both been in
contact requesting information for their shopping center for which they expect
to have plans in the next week or so. Also, Mr. Jim Gilbertson has indicated
that he intends to complete the Side Door Lounge adjacent to his off-sale
liquor store on Highway #10. This item was brought before the Council pre-
viously and was approved. However, reapplication for the on-sale liquor license
will be required inasmuch as the one initially issued expired after one year.

Again, as last month, permit activity was such that it is not worth reporting.
Hopefully this ~ituation will soon change.

The issue of the site and design plan ordinance again surfaced with the Waltek
permit. The ordinance is in my opinion quite good and would generate commercial
and industrial development with good valuations. However, consistancy in enforce-
ment since its inception has been the exception rather than the rule. Perhaps
this issue should be addressed in the very near future as improving economic
conditions may spur development.
