I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ANOKA <br /> <br />C~D~C3it~ JOINT LAW ENFORCEMENT COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 22, 1982 MEETING <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert M. A. Johnson, <br />Who introduced Vernon Swanson of Lino Lakes as a new member of <br />the Council. The following members were present: Stuart <br />Anderson, Mike Auspos, Roger Coulthart, Jim Hill, Ray Jones, <br />Robert Lewis, Otto Lind, Marvin Myhre, Bruce Nawrocki, Jerry <br />Nelson, Ron Nicholas and Vernon Swanson. Also present were <br />Don Dwyer, Bill Hoogestraat, Cecil Van Dusen and Bruce Wojack. <br /> <br />1. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Jerry Nelson made motion to approve the July 28, 1982 minutes <br />as distributed. Said motion was seconded by Ray Jones and <br />unanimously passed. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Commit'tee Reports <br /> <br /> a. Executive Committee <br /> <br /> The chairman distributed copies of County Board Resolution <br /> <br />No. 82-56 regarding gross misdemeanor DWI fines, and briefly <br />explained the background of this matter. <br /> <br /> b. Projects and Programs committee <br /> There was no report from this committee. <br /> c. MCIU Operations Committee <br /> <br />There was no report from this committee. <br /> <br />e. Central Communications Operations Committee <br /> <br /> There was no report from this committee. At the chairman's <br />request, Cecil Van Dusen reported on the bidding process for the <br />computer aided dispatch (CAD) system, indicating that the low <br />bidder, Simcon, Inc., would be recommended by staff at the Septem- <br />ber 28 Board meeting. After considerable discussion, it was <br />determined that the Council had two main concerns: (1) the ability <br />of Simcon's CAD system to interface with local systems, (2) the · <br />total cost of Simcon's CAD system. Due to %he time requirements <br />regarding the bidding process, it was suggested that within the <br />next two days the Central Communications Operat'ions Committee meet <br />with appropriate representatives from the consulting firm, the <br /> <br /> <br />
