I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />January 27, 1983 <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Brott <br />M.P.C.A. <br />1935 West County Road B-2 -' <br />St. Paul, Minnesota <br /> <br />RE: Amendment to Waste Management's Landfill .P.~m'it in Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Brott: <br /> <br />In response to Waste Management's request to change the slope and decrease <br />the area of fill on their expansion of the Ramsey Landfill to the borrow <br />area, we would agree that this change would be in the best interest of the <br />City. <br /> <br />However, by agreeing to this change the City does'not condone the expansion <br />of the landfill into the south eighty acres or Proposed Landfill Site "P" <br />without a liner. It has always been the City's understanding that expansion <br />into the south eighty acres would require a new permit with more stringent <br />standards such as liners being required. At ~he time the original permit <br />was issued the City of Ramsey was not aware that the borrow area in the <br />south 80 acres was to be filled with solid waste and was not afforded the <br />opportunity to comment at that time. <br /> <br />We would like to thank you for this opportunity to comment on the amendment. <br />to the landfill permit and would be happy to provide you with input in the <br />future. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />Thomas G.
