This is a serious problem to the
neighbors who reside in the area where the Hansons have their
tree farm. We understand that Mr. Hanson does have a small
garden hose available to maintain the fire and he does notify
the Anoka Fire Department when he burns, however, the residents
in this area feel that the protection that is being provided
by Mr. Hanson to keep his fire under control is not adequate.
Consequently, they_are ~er~3_concerned that some day the fire
will get out of control and they will lose their homes.

I
I

It should be noted that Council did pass a motion whereby they
restricted all burning in pine forested residential areas.
However, Mr. Hanson came before Council and spoke to you
about his situation. Council mad~'a'motion to the effect
that he could burn if he provided certain things.

The City should really take a good look at the seriousness
if Mr. Hanson's fire should get out of control and what damage
it would bring to the surrounding homes.

I
I
i
I

b)

c)

Councilmember Jean Schlueter Requesting Council Action on
Certain Items (A.
