There is a large residential development which stretches approxi-
mately one and one-half miles along the north boundary of the site (approxi-
mately 300 hc~es with one-half mile) and another smaller residential develop-
me~t ("Hunter's Hill"~ approximately 25 ho~es) adjacent to roughly one-half
mile of the east boundary. 91nese residential areas are not buffered ~rom 'the
proposed site by any cemeteries~ parks~ highways or other man-made or natural
harriers. (Ex. ZZ). 9here is a large trailer court (approximately 100
trailers) along the south edge of the proposed site between the railroad
tracks and the highway. ~he only buffer between this residential develog~ent
a~4 the proposed site is the railroad tracks.

46. Inside th~ site~ near the north center, there is a row of six ~s
along the west side of Pamsey Boulevard and a house in the southeast area on
Sunfish Lake Boule%fatal. These homes have no buffer frc~ the remainder of the
proposed site.

Soil and Aquifer Go~itions
47. Soi~ and water conditions in the proposed and adjacent area are about
as bad as they can be frc~ the standpoint of offering grOundwater protection
beyond that which is designed directly into the facility.

48. ~ne water table in the area is a foot or more above the surface to
five feet below the surface throughout much of the proposed area. Two major
drainagew~ys including wetlands~ ponds and interm/ttent streams proceed north-
west to southeast through the east and west halves of the site. (Ex. AAA ar~
EX. PP). The top of the w~ter table throughout the remainder of the site is
at elevation 860 plus/minus 5,' which is generally less than 15 feet below the
surface of the land. (F~.
