Letter From Metro Council Regarding Ramsey's
Request For A Comprehensive Plan Amendment; B. Metro Council's

Letter Dated April 5, 1983 Approving Of Metro Waste Control
Commission's Requested Budget Amendment Re~ardi.n.g. Rams.ey's Second
Sanitary Sewer Connection:

Council noted receiving and reviewing letter fr~m Metro Council dated April 6,
1983.

Council noted receiving and reviewing letter from Metro Council dated April 5,
1983.

Mr. Schnelle stated that regarding Ramsey's request for an amendment to the
comprehensive plan was not an effort on the part of himself or the City to
railroad something through. The change was a minor one as it only affected
undeveloped land.

Mr. Schnelle stated, regarding Ramsey's Second Sanitary Sewer Connection,
if Ramsey does net take action during this particular budget period, the
connection will be removed from Metro Waste Control Budget. In the future,
if it happens that Ramsey needs that connection, Ramsey would probably have
to pay the costs to have it brought to the edge of the City and Metro Council
would pay Ramsey back some day when they have the money or let Ramsey use
the line for a certain period of time. The City would lose hard cash for
services.

Case #7: CommunitS Development Blogk Grant Regarding Congressional Assistance:

Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to
adopt Resolution #83-68 requesting legislative authorization for Anoka County
to continue in the CDBG for fiscal year 1984. (Please refer to resolution
file for Resolution #83-68).

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann,
Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None.

Mr. Schnelle stated that the County received $500,000 to be split among the
communities. Question is should each city go their own way with their
portion or receive the money in one large block to be used for development
or improved housing. Columbia Heights and Anoka want to do with their portion
as they see fit.

Mayor Gamec stated that in the past, Ramsey has taken it's portion to do with
as we want.

C/April 26, 1983
