I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing regarding Sealcoating Improvement Project #83-7 for Autumn <br />Heights was called to order by Mayor Gamec at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, <br />1983 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, .15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec <br /> Councilmember Gary Reimann <br /> Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br /> Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Also Present: City Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka made a slide presentation of the proposed project. <br /> <br />Bob Harley - 8630 167th Lane - Stated that.there are radius problems on 3 <br />corners in the area to the west of Cty. Rd. #83. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka replied that they will be repaired. <br /> <br />Bonnie Wilcox - 8742 168th Avenue N.W. - Inquired why tax dollars aren't used <br />for street maintenance. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that there is a problem because not all the streets in <br />the City are paved and it was decided that those who desire blacktop will <br />pay for what they have and those who desire gravel will pay for what they <br />have. He further stated that street maintenance cannot be added to the <br />budget at this time because of levy limits, that taxes can be raised only <br />so much without bringing it to a special referendum. <br /> <br />Bonnie Wilcox inquired what benefit she does derive from paying Ramsey taxes, <br />that it isn't schools because she is in the Elk River School district. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed her that Mrs. Wilcox that her biggest tax discrepancy <br />is because of the fact that she is in the Elk River School district. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Schlueter, <br />Reimann and Van Wagner.
