I Councilmember Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #83-118 WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has discussed at joint meetings with the Anoka City Council the upgrading and extending of Thurston Avenue to intersect with Industrial Blvd. NW for the follow- ing reasons: --To provide a better route for citizens of Ramsey and Anoka to reach State Highway #10 --To reduce traffic congestion on State Highway #47 --To provide a safer route of distant traveling north of State Highway #10 ~ W~EREAS,"the Ramsey City Council is planning development north"6f"~ountY Roa.d #116 (industrial Blv~d. NW) which will add an increased burde'n._on the pr.esent over~Lcongested State Highway #10. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ..BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The City of Ramsey requests that the City of Anoka proceed with the extension of Thurston Avenue to intersect County Road //116 (Industrial Blvd. NW). 2) That a joint meeting be held between the City of Ramsey and the City of Anoka with County Commissioners Erhart and Haas present to discuss financing and scheduling of this project. 3) That the alignment of this proposed road be jointly determined by the two communities for use. 4) That the City Administrators of the respective com- munities, along with their engineer.s, prepare a tentative alignment and schedule the joint meeting. I I I The mot~on for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gamec and upon vote being taken thereon, the follow- ing voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec, Coun¢ilmembers Reimann, Sorteberg, Schlueter and the following voted against the same: None and the following were absent: Councilmember Van Wagner
