I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />CASE #6: <br /> <br />#7: <br />CASE #8: <br /> <br />CASE #9: <br /> <br />EXTENSION OF THURSTON AVENUE UP TO INDUSTRIAL BLVD.: <br /> <br />As per Council Resolution #83-118, Mr. Larry Koshak and I met with <br />the Anoka City Engineer and~we discussed the proposed extension and <br />alignment of Thurston Avenue. Mr. Dulgar, City Manager, stated that <br />they were in the process of acquiring road right-of-way easements, <br />etc. from the two major properties involved which was quite a process. <br />At the time, the City Attorney was drawing up the paperwork for the <br />Cornelius Corporation to sign. He also stated that Cornelius was <br />quite concerned about the amount of traffic that would be generated <br />if Thurston Avenue should ever be extended to Industrial Blvd. <br /> <br />Accordingly, Mr. Dulgar felt that they wouldn't be ready for a joint <br />Council meeting ~ntil sometime between October and the end of December. <br />I guess that they also have a major drainage problem to get resolved. <br />It does appear that their Council is not aware Of all the problems <br />that exist with sai~[-.project. The Anoka City Manager and Engineer <br />do.not have a problem with the alignment of the propQsed street <br />extens'ion. <br /> <br />Council Actio~i ~ Your aCtion'~mt· this time will be to wait until Anoka <br />has their problems resolved. <br /> <br />FILLING OF VACANCY ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION: <br /> <br />The Economic Development Commission is working on this and will be <br />submitting a recommendation to Council in August 1983. <br /> <br />1982 - 1983 LOCAL PLANNING ASSISTANCE LOANS: <br /> <br />Enclosure (D2-d) contains a memo from the Metro Counc%l regarding local <br />planning assistance loans. I will report in more detail on this at <br />the meeting as to how we may benefit from it. <br /> <br />CONTRACT MOWING OF WEEDS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY: <br /> <br />It is requested that Council approve of the City contracting the mowing <br />where the City has to cut the weeds on private land when the owner will <br />not do it. <br /> <br />It is therefore requested that you approve of the following persons <br />who have submitted price quotes which includes equipment: <br /> <br />Mr. Dallas Welcome <br />Mr. Louie Williams <br /> <br />$25.O0/hour <br /> 25.0U/hour <br /> <br />It is also requested that you allow the City to add 20% which would cover <br />the City's cost in these cases. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of this <br />request by motion.
