PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA' <br /> <br />A special meeting .of the Ramsey City Council was held on Monday, June 27, <br />1983 at 5:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Landfill office which is located at the <br />Ramsey Landfill. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br />Councilmember A1Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />Others Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br /> County Commissioner Natalie Haas <br /> Waste..~Fpagement Corp. Officiai Don Otter <br /> Waste 2Mj~'nagement Corp<.Official Terry Miller <br /> <br />The purpose of th~ meeting was to inform the Ramsey City Council on what <br />was happening at the Ramsey. Landfill in regards to the length of time left <br />before the landfill i% ca~ped otf'~'~n~ closed which was discussed at some <br />length. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter gave a 15 minute slide presentation as to how their corporation <br />has performed in dealing with solid waste. Questions were addressed in <br />regards to the probability of leache build-up problem. They stated that <br />they have had no indications that that will be ~a problem at the Ramsey <br />Landfill. <br /> <br />Waste Management took the group on a motor tour of the landfill showing <br />how they were proceeding in the completion of it. A stop was made where <br />they burn off the methane gases. <br /> <br />After completing the tour, the Councilmembers returned to the Ramsey Munici- <br />pal Center where they discussed Council and Staff working relationship and <br />the problem areas in their working relationship. It was agreed that they <br />had some differences but felt that this meeting resolved those differences. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Lloyd G.
