Whipkey in my absence and they informed me that our water problem in the
lower level is mainly caused by the lack of caulking and sealing of the ex-
terior of the building. This problem becomes especially evident where one
sprinkler head sprays on the building wall and window. (A temporary sheild
has been fashioned to stop this problem.)

To correct this problem two things should be done:

1)

The sprinkler system should be revised as necessary to c~mpletely
eliminate the possibility of water being sprayed against the
building walls. This would have to be done by a competent in-
staller.

2)

All areas around the windows should be caulked and a sealer on a
portion of the back that has been exposed to the sprinkler would
probably be in order. This oould be done by the City crew, pro-
vided they have time ~vailable. If they do not, then we should
engage someone to do this as soon as possible. Failure to handle
this will only compound our problem.
