On September 23, 1982, the Board will <br /> select approximately 30 areas to be On a "preliminary area" status, to be analyzed and <br /> evaluated further. <br /> <br /> Based on application of criteria selected by the WMB (copy enclosed), an area within your <br /> community has been tentatively identified as a "preliminary area" to be examined more <br /> closely by the Waste Management Board September 23. On that date, the Board will adopt <br /> its list of "preliminary areas." '[.he area in your vicinity includes the area located north <br /> of Hwy. 52, south of 149th Ave. NW, east of Puma St. NW, west of County Road 57. Also, <br /> a small portion located north of Hwy. 52, south of County Road 116, west of county eastern <br /> boundary, east of County Road 57. <br /> <br /> Because this area may be selected by the Waste Management Board as a "preliminary area," <br /> we want to be sure that there is sufficient information available to your city on a regular <br /> basis, and that a continued flow of communication between your community and our offices <br /> be developed and maintained. We are therefore requesting that you appoint a "community <br /> liaison" person to be responsible for receiving pertinent information from the Waste Man- <br /> agement Board, and to be available to answer inquiries and requests for information from <br /> the Board. Perhaps there is a member of your city staff who might be suitable for this <br /> type of liaison activity. We feel that appointment of a "community liaison" can assure <br /> the needed flow of communication that would be helpful for both your community and the <br /> Waste Management Board during the upcoming months. You may wish to have the selected <br /> liaison person attend the September 23 Waste Management Board meeting, to be held at <br /> the State Capitol, room 123.
