Further Discussion: Discussion ensued as to length of extension and commencing date of extension. Councilmember Cox withdraws his motion for R~solution 982-129. I I ,I I i I I ~Iotion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Co~cilmember Reimann to table any action on this case until the next regular Council Meeting, at which time Mr. Deemer should present to Council signed letters from the two homeowners in Pondvale Estates indicating they are aware of the circumstances and the extension of time. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cox, Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Case #2:' Sound System For Council Chambers: Mo%ion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to table any action on this case until the next regular Council meeting, in order to give Councilmembers more time to review the bids. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cox, Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Councilmember Cox indicated %hat Mr. Ben Deemer's bid should be considered out of perspective as far as the sound system is concerned, because the City is reluctant to dealing with persons connected:with the City and this policy could avoid friction at some time in the future. I I I I I I I I I Mr. Benjamin Deemer stated that he was only doing some leg work for the City by finding out what was available at Radio Shack and that he would make no personal gain if the bid were awarded to Radio Shack. He stated that he was only trying to see that the City got a quality system at a reasonable price. Mayor Gamec stated that sometimes the cheapest way is not the best way to go. We should probably purchase a sound system from a company that will install the equipment and service the equipment. Case #3: Mr. Randy Norcross Reqard~n~ His Driyeway On Variolite Street N.W.: Mr. Norcross was present and requested that the Council continue to allow his driveway onto Variolite instead of 168th, and that his is willing to put in a turn-around to alleviate the traffic hazard. Mr. Norcross stated that where City wants the driveway to be located is wetland and he presented photos to Council showing such. He also stated that moving driveway to 168th could cause even more erosion problems. Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg authorizing Mr. Randy Norcross to move his driveway to access onto 168th with a time limit of one (i) year. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cox, Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. C/September 28, 1982 Page 8
